2010 Diamond State Games Grappling Tournament

US Grappling returns to Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware on Saturday, June 19, 2010! This gi and no-gi event will have divisions for men, women, and 30+ men.

The first 50 pre-registered (and paid) competitors will receive a free event t-shirt!

Saturday weigh ins will be held at the venue from 8 AM to 9:30 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night from 6 to 8 PM (night before weigh-in location TBA). If you weigh in Friday night, you do not need to weigh in on Saturday!

Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins.

The rules meeting will be held at 10:45 AM, and the first matches will begin at 11 AM. The full event schedule will be posted closer to the event date.

A legend in the grappling world, Moura is a third degree black belt under the great Andre Pederneiras. As a member of the formidable Nova Uniao team, “Robhino” is a seven time world champion and a eight time Brazilian national champion. He is one of the few BJJ practitioners at his level that both teaches and still competes at the international level. He has roots in Newark, as he was the first to open the Elite BJJ academy before handing it over to one of his brown belts, Jeff Mitchell. The seminar will be a great learning opportunity for any and all interested and is a chance to study under an internationally recognized black belt and all-time great of the sport.
