On Saturday, July 10, 2010, NAGA returns to Atlanta, Georgia with its 10th annual NAGA Georgia Grappling Championship. This tournament is open to all grappling styles and competitors. You do not need to be on a team or be a member of any organization to compete. This event is nationally RANKED!

SAMURAI SWORDS TO CHILDREN & TEEN WINNERS
NAGA will be awarding custom engraved SAMURAI SWORDS to all Children & Teen 1st place winners! Octagon medals will be awarded to all Adult divisions winners. All Adult, Kids & Teens 2nd & 3rd place winners take home octagon medals. Many adult competitors have asked to replace swords with gold medals. Adults who place 1st will have the option to obtain samurai swords at the NAGA T-shirt Booth (for a nominal fee).

All 6 of our top teams (Adult Gi, No-Gi & Children 17 yrs. & under) will receive a custom made CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM CUP. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase the talent that your academy possesses.

DOUBLE THE TEEN DIVISIONS – NEW AGE GROUPS
With the large number of teenagers competing at NAGA events, we have decided to double the number of teen divisions. We will now have separate age group divisions for teens 14 & 15 year olds, and 16 & 17 year olds. We will be using the same weight classes as in the past. Children 13 years and under will also be broken down by weight and age.

NEW ADULT ABSOLUTE NO-GI DIVISIONS
Many NAGA No-gi competitors have asked us to allow them to compete in multiple skill levels in order to get more opportunities to roll the day of the competition. In order to facilitate their request we have added Novice, Beginner and Intermediate Absolute No-Gi Divisions. These No-Gi Divisions will begin once all the regular No-Gi divisions have ended so No-gi grapplers will not miss their second chance to compete. 1st through 3rd place winners take home octagon medals. The winner of the Advanced Absolute will take home a championship belt

US Grappling returns to Savannah, GA on Saturday, June 26, 2010 for our tenth Submission Only event! Registration is now open!

Saturday weigh ins will be held from 8 AM to 10 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night from 6-8 PM at the venue. Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins.

Fastest submission!
The competitor with the fastest submission of the entire tournament will win free admission into all US Grappling Submission Only events for one full year!

All competitors who register online and pay before 6/24/2010 at 8 PM will receive a free t-shirt.

Men’s Gi Division Absolute Winners
Winners of the men’s black, brown, purple, blue, and white belt absolute divisions will win a gi.

The absolute divisions will begin when the weight classes for that belt or skill have finished. For example, when all of the men’s advanced no gi divisions have finished, we will begin the men’s advanced absolute. The last divisions of the day will be the men’s white belt absolute.

The tournament will be held at Tekniques BJJ & Fitness (Alliance Powder Springs) in Powder Springs, GA. This tournament will be exclusively for the Alliance team. GRAPPLE AMERICA is proud to bring you the USA GRAPPLING CHAMPIONSHIPS, May 1, 2010 in Jonesboro, Georgia. The USA’s will feature men, women, and juvenile divisions, both GI and NO-GI. Cash prizes will be awarded in the advanced absolute divisions, including a Brown/Black belt absolute class under 170. This will allow the lighter division athletes to earn cash as well.

GRAPPLE AMERICA is an upstart organization that is dedicated to bring more awareness to the world of grappling and BJJ. Combat Sports Expo and Grappling Tournament

The date and location have been named for the Combat Sports EXPO and it will land at the beautiful Renaissance Waverly on Saturday, April 3. The Renaissance Waverly is one of the largest and nicest hotels in Atlanta and is very conveniently located at the corner of 285 and 75 and is attached to the Cobb Galleria.

This is the first time ever in the state of Georgia that an event of this magnitude has taken place to promote the sports of boxing, kickboxing and MMA. We are happy to have partnered with 790TheZone for this first event.

The Combat Sports EXPO will feature live boxing from noon – 2 pm, live kickboxing from 4 pm – 6 pm and live mma from 9 pm until midnight! The Combat Sports EXPO will bring all three sports under one roof for the first time ever and will add in many free sessions throughout the day!

The Combat Sports EXPO will be completely FREE for everyone to attend while the fights will be ticketed events. There will also be a two-hour training session with Joe Lauzon, Jens Pulver or Jeremy Horn. Throughout the day there will also be many free training sessions to improve your skills and knowledge as a fighter and athlete. More than 4,000 fans are expected to attend this inaugural event!

Free clinics that we’re currently working on include: wrestling techniques, women’s self defense, stand up training, Q and A with a top fighter on how to break into the big show (UFC, WEC, Strikeforce, etc), Q and A with a UFC/WEC World Champ, strength and conditioning clinic, etc. All of these seminars will be free and will be taught by the best trainers in the area.

The day will feature amatuer boxing (noon – 2 pm); amateur kickboxing (4 pm – 6 pm) and amateur/pro MMA from 8 pm – midnight.

There will also be a 4 hr seminar for $50 featuring the best teachers in standup, wrestling, bjj and mma.

Additionally there will be an all day clinic for referees and judges as well as free clinics for kids, women’s self-defense and strength & conditioning.

The Grappling Tournament will begin at 10 am on Saturday, April 3 and will end at about 5 or 6 pm, just in time for the MMA fights that begin at 8 pm. The Grappling Tournament will prove to be one of the most well organized and well run Grappling Tournaments with a very modest and affordable entry price of about $40!

Please note that we will have full access to the health club for free showers for all participants!

Alliance BJJ Pan Ams Training Camp

Alliance Headquarters in Atlanta is proud to announce our upcoming Pan-Am training camp. The camp will be Wednesday March 31rst to Wednesday April 7th. The camp will be ran by 6th

degree blackbelt and Alliance founder Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti. Featured will be top stars from all of the Alliance affiliates throughout the world. There will be two training sessions a day.

The special news is that the camp is open to everyone, regardless of their jiu-jitsu affiliation. The cost will be $300 for non-Alliance members and $200 for members. US Grappling will host our first Submission Only tournament in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday, February 13th, 2010 at the Supergoose Sports Facility. This venue is very convenient to I-95 and I-16.

Saturday weigh ins will be held from 8 AM to 10 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night (more info coming).
