US Grappling Chicago Gi and No-Gi Tournament

Preregistration is open for for US Grappling – Chicago, a gi and no-gi tournament in at the Oak Lawn Pavilion on Saturday, October 9th.

Things that will make this tournament run smoother than your typical jiu jitsu tournament:

1. No kids. This is an adults only BJJ and submission grappling tournament. This means that the adult divisions will begin at the beginning of the day (first matches start at 11 AM!).

2. We will be capping competitors at 500! This venue, our staff, and our bracketing can handle this many competitors in a very efficient manner throughout the day.

This gi and no-gi event will have divisions for men, women, and 30+ men.

The first 100 competitors to preregister (and pay) will receive a free event t-shirt.

Note that the exact weigh-in times are subject to change as the event approaches. Saturday weigh ins will be held at the venue from 8 AM to 9:30 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night from 6 to 8 PM (night before weigh-in location to be decided). If you weigh in Friday night, you do not need to weigh in on Saturday!

Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins.

First matches will begin at 11 AM.

Note: This event is for adults only. Teens may compete in adult divisions with permission of their parents and coaches.

The C3 “TORNEO DE MAYO” BJJ/SW Tournament is coming May 8th, 2010 to Indiana University Northwest in Gary, Indiana.

Just like the past three C3 tournaments, we will be giving cash prizes away to all of the adult male absolute winners in
Gi and No-Gi. Thats right. These divisions are stacked and what better way to celebrate winning one of these divisions by getting some cash!

Each winner of the Adult Male Absolute Gi will receive cash. This includes white belt all the way to black belt (A total of $1400 dollars). These absolute divisions will be done before the individual weight classes so nobody will be tired for the absolute brackets. Award Amounts are $200 for White, Blue, and Purple belts; $300 for Brown Belts; $500 for Black Belts.

Each winner of the Adult Male Absolute No-Gi will receive cash. This includes all three divisions: beginner, intermediate, and advanced (A total of $1100 dollars). These absolute divisions will be done before the individual weight classes so nobody will be tired for the absolute brackets. Award Amounts are $300 for Beginner and Intermediate; $500 for Advanced. Be aware we will be watching for sandbaggers (especially in the No-Gi)!

C3 is still one of the cheapest tournaments around and always improving based on your feedback. Don’t forget to pre-register, not only do you save $10 but you also get a free t-shirt!
