Weigh-ins begin at 8:30 A.M. and run till 11:30 A.M. Tournament begins at 12:00 P.M.

Every event has experienced referees. The universal rules under
the IBJJF are utilized for officiating. Medals are handed out to the
top 3 place winners in each division. Team trophies also go out to
the top 3 schools based on points accumulated by each school.

2010 Diamond State Games Grappling Tournament

US Grappling returns to Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware on Saturday, June 19, 2010! This gi and no-gi event will have divisions for men, women, and 30+ men.

The first 50 pre-registered (and paid) competitors will receive a free event t-shirt!

Saturday weigh ins will be held at the venue from 8 AM to 9:30 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for anyone that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night from 6 to 8 PM (night before weigh-in location TBA). If you weigh in Friday night, you do not need to weigh in on Saturday!

Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins.

The rules meeting will be held at 10:45 AM, and the first matches will begin at 11 AM. The full event schedule will be posted closer to the event date.

Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu BJJ Seminar

Roberto Abreu has many accomplishments, including multiple time (Mato Grosso, Brazil) State Champion, Panamerican Champion, Grapplers Quest Champion, World Championships and world cup medalist. He has also been the Brazilian National Champion, South American Champion, European Champion, Brazilian Wrestling National Champion, and a finalist at Abu Dhabi 2009. Roberto has also come out with a popular instructional DVD, and he runs his own BJJ School called Fight Sports Beach in Miami.

The passionate Brazilian black belt, Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, will be teaching a seminar at Team Balance Pittsburgh on May 1st, 2010. Cyborg will be teaching for 3 hours starting from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This seminar requires the use of a gi. It only costs $65/person, but space is limited! Exit the middle gym through the double doors directly across the gym. Exiting through those doors will enter you into the Green Gym, which is where the seminar will be held. Postings will be on doorways and hallway walls.

Philadelphia Grappling Championships Tournament

This is a grappling and BJJ tournament created by grapplers, for grapplers. As such, we aim to eliminate the typical problems associated with other tournaments–high prices, long wait times, and exceptionally large brackets. Quality competitors, not Quantity, is what we strive to have at our events.

Features of The NJGC and The PGC include world-class professional divisions and Superfights and championship belts for advanced and absolute division winners. There is also a system in place that puts absolute division winners into future pro divisions.

Our Pro-Divisions freature World Champions, Abu Dhabi Competitors and Pan Am Champions. We cut no corners on bringing the best talent in the world to our events. Mid Atlantic Grappling Championships II

US Grappling will hold our Mid-Atlantic Grappling Championships 2 in Boothwyn, PA on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010. Boothwyn is 20 miles southwest of Philly along I-95, and is very convenient to the Delaware BJJ schools as well.

This gi and no-gi points tournament will have divisions for men, women, and 30+ men. We will not be offering divisions for children or teens at this event. Teens will be able to compete in adult divisions with the permission of their parents/coaches.
